Shampoo Review, BIG from Lush

I have been trying to get a good shampoo for a very long time now. I have tried all different types of shampoos, normally mid-priced ones, from all different brands. My hair used to get quite greasy so  I've used many anti-grease shampoos, ones to help my split ends a few months ago (which I acquired from using too much heat on my hair and not getting trims regularly enough)  then volume ones more recently as my hair has been lacking shine and getting lanky and static very quickly throughout the day. Not good :(

However, there is hope! My mum went out shopping recently and came back with a little tester pot of lush's BIG shampoo. The lady in the shop had raved about it too her and told her how much volume it gives and how shiny it makes your hair- also how long it lasts! The caption on the tub reads...
'BIG, Sea Salt Shampoo, Sea salt shampoo to give your hair lift and volume, make it easy to get a comb through and smell great for hours'

The Shampoo Pot :)
I used up the tester pot in two washes (washing my hair twice each time, as it apparently works much better if you wash it twice), which was surprising as the pot was so tiny. I literally used a 10p sized blob and it lathered up so well! The shampoo has large salt crystals in it and is a thick liquid- not very conventional for a shampoo- but the crystals do dissolve as you rub the shampoo into your hair.

After the very first wash I noticed a huge difference in my hair. It had volume and stayed looking fresh all day- even whilst I was out all day! It gave it so much more shine and bounce as well as it not going lanky after a while and not going static once I brushed it after a few hours. I have never had a shampoo do such wonders tom my hair, especially not after one use! I have also had to go back to an old shampoo for one wash while I bought a full pot and It has stayed looking good :)

The actual shampoo
As for the price itis £10 for the above pot, which considering is from Lush, so therefore handmade and 100% natural and will last me for ages, is actually quite a good price. I usually buy shampoos that are around £4-£6  a bottle and this will probably last me as long as two of those! I also have another bottle of lush shampoo, I Love Juicy, which I will use every couple of weeks so that my hair doesn't get too used to BIG. I have used before and liked it (especially the smell- tropical, fruity and fresh, lovely!) but my hair got used to it and it stopped working :(. Hopefully I will be able to use these two together for a while and they will work well together. I will also try and review I Love Juicy once I have used it a few times and update you on how the shampoos are working after a while.

Two things that I don't think are entirely true is their claim that it makes your hair easier to comb- this doesn't really bother me at all though- and that it makes your hair smell great for hours. Sure, the product smells pretty good (I mean, come on, it's from lush, goes without saying really) but I haven't really noticed a difference in the scent of my hair. I do however, have a badly blocked nose and cold at the moment though, so maybe I just can't smell it.

Definitely worth buying if these things sound like they would do your hair some good and if you have similar hair problems to me. Hope this was helpful, will be back again soon,

Grace :) x
